Aziz Razavi is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who holds extensive training and experience treating ADHD, Anxiety-Related Disorders and Phobias, Borderline Personality Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Depression and Mood Disorders, Somatic Symptom Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and PTSD. Prior to obtaining his Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology from Walden University in 2019, Mr. Razavi was driven by a passion to help people with mental illness. As such, he pursued his Bachelor’s in Social Work at the University of Calgary. This education enabled Mr. Razavi to appreciate the intersectional barriers that contribute to poor treatment outcomes. Fueled by the systemic challenges to accessing mental health services, he sought comprehensive training and experience in suicide prevention and crisis management through his service at the Calgary Distress Centre. Aiming to expand his scope of competence, Mr. Razavi completed his psychology internship at Millard Health, where he provided psychological treatment to patients with emotional distress, trauma, and pain associated with work-related injuries. Mr. Razavi eventually graduated at the top of his class, and has been inducted into Psi Chi -- The International Honor Society in Psychology
Valuing evidence-based practice and desiring to help others, he is trained in utilizing empirically supported treatment methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and EMDR. His practice aims to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of treatment by implementing tailored outcome measures to monitor the patient’s progress in treatment. Along with psychological treatment, Mr. Razavi believes in equipping patients with a deepened understanding of their mental health. As such, he conducts thorough Mental Health and ADHD Assessments, highlighting the patient’s emotional, behavioral, and cognitive functioning. His interests include expanding his scope of practice to incorporate Intellectual, Cognitive, and Psychoeducational Assessments.
